We're using IP Softphone 5.2xx for remote dialin. I'm installing the Avaya IP Softphone Instant Messaging Enable-IM_5.21.exe software in order to give us the IM integration. We recently installed the Microsoft Office Communication 2005, along with the Live Communication Server. We added the integration into Avaya by adding an AES server. Additionally via SIP we have public IM capabilities.
When all said and done, when in IP Softphone I am not connecting to the Microsoft Office 2005 Live Communication Server and the IM buttons are grayed out. I can place calls despite the trying to connect window for the IM server. Upon login to IP Softphone I hang in the window saying, "Connection to the instant messaging server."
Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? Despite redoing the configuration for the IM enablement piece using each of the three ip addresses for each of the above servers, none of them gets me beyond the login hanging problem.
My presence of being "on a call" when using IP Softphone only displays for others in-house when I'm logged into Live Communication server. Shouldn't my presence on a call be detectable to others within the company when I use IP Softphone whether I'm logged in our not, just as it does when using my desk phone?
