I am setting up a two drive RAID 0 Striping for Speed on my main PC at home.

My question is, does the 8MB vs. 2MB hard drive cache make the same difference in a RAID setup as when comparing two identical size/speed drives with just the cache difference?

I'm thinking that maybe the controller has its own memory or something since its combining the striped data and then serving the data from there..

any thoughts? I chouldn't find any benchmarks that considered or compared this

For random IO, you may get better performance with the larger cache. There is a higher probability that the item you are requesting will be in RAM. For sequential, it won't make much difference.
