I have bcm400 4.0 and I have just received a BCM400 Redundant power supply upgrade which also includes a new MSC replacement board. My question is does the power upgrade require the MSC upgrade as well? And if yes can anyone explain the benefits of the MSC upgrade?

Thanks.

I don't believe so. Was your system originally 3.x upgraded to a 4.0? Some 3.0 and 3.5 systems had problems w/ the the MSCs. If u replace the MSC, you'll have to regenerate the keycodes.

Agree w Dasheen, no purpose to the MSC upgrade.

Installed Redundant power supply and 2nd fan. Fairly simple project I suppose. I am having problems with Fans. External Led Red hot for fans. External power Led solid red hot also on boot but I am able to clear through element manager. Internal LED Status Flashing green for HD and Solid Red For Fans. Can anyone help?

Ok. here it is. Redundant power supply installation successful after all. It turns out that one cable (PA which connects to PSU) had no label and needed to be connected. This fixed my problem with power supply alarms and fan warnings. Thanks Dasheen & Dewey for the help.
