Does anyone know if the Nortel BCM400 Rls 4.0 will support a SIP client? Customer is looking to add a ALGO 8180 Audio SIP alerter with a horn attached as the loud ringer for the warehouse area so that when a IP Phone rings, the workers will hear the SIP Alerter ring throughout the warehouse area.

Currently, the customer has all IP Phones (i2002, i2004) and I dont think there is any way to install external loud ringer to a (i2002, i2004)IP Phone?

Algo does make a 8001 IP Alerter but that says it is for the Communication Server 1000 only.

Hi,

There are no sip clients supported on a bcm400 4.0.
I used analog horns in the past.

You can use an algo ringer and connect it to the Aux ringer port and program the set for aux ring to Y. When phone rings the ringer rings.

Normally that would work but I forgot to mention this, Customer has a main site with the BCM and IP Phones then a remote site on other side of town and IP Phones which connect back to main site via MPLS circuit.

No way to extend the aux port from the bcm across the T1 circuit.

Any other ideas? Thanks!

We using a IP ata. From cisco or audio codes that can be configured as a trunk on the bcm.

BlueStuff,

Can you share the Models numbers you use from the Cisco and Audio Codes devices?

Thanks
