Does anyone work with the fax client, I have ?'s

I've sent up a fax modem on our SBS 2003 server and I still can't seem to get my faxes to well...fax.

I've checked everything I could think of...drivers, connections, configuration etc...
I'll create a fax via the Fax console and the messages simply sit in the outbox. The modem is listed as idle.
I walked through my admin companion and did everything is suggested I do in order to set up the client and manager but of course still no out bound faxes, so my problem is probably very simple, something I've over looked.

Are you sure your telephone connection is good?

Make sure you're modem isn't connected to a digital phone line.

Thanks for your help.
The phone line I'm using is the same one for our fax machine.
if I can get the server and it modem running we may phase out the fax machine itself, also all of our phone lines run through a phone system, so I must use the fax line- which doesn't pass through anything.

Me thinks there is a modem communication issue here. SBS fax is very straight forward.

I'll ask the usual questions:
- have you configured the dialing parameters and area code?
- if you open Hyperterminal and send an AT command to the serial port holding the modem, what happens?
- in SBS faxing, if you set it to answer, then disconnect your normal fax machine and call the number, does the modem answer?

Yeah another easy way to test your modem is to create a fake dial-up networking connection and dial one of your telephones in your office or your cell number - just to see if it actually dials out.
