Does Anyone Know of any Software to Backup System Drive?

Hi guys

Does anyone have any good recommendations for some software that I can use to backup a Windows 2003 Server system drive onto either DVD or USB or something.

I want it to backup all system files even if they are in use.

One other thing is that it is a RAID 5 configuration.

Any suggestions greatly welcome.

We have used a program in the past called "BackupMyPC" to backup a single system to DVD. Don't know how well it would work with a server though. We normally use BackupExec on our servers.

We use Veritas Backup Exec 10. With the correct agents for the software, you can backup anything.

How about using good old NTBackup? You already own it and your Windows 2003 version has a new feature called ASR (Automated System Recovery).

ASR is a combination of a bootable floppy and tape(or disk or DVD image) that allows you to boot off of the floppy and fully restore the server without first having to install an operating system. This can save you many hours of work if you have a server crash.

We are using Veritas for our daily backups but we'd like to do historical backups onto DVD. That way we can go back months and months if someone needs a file in a previous state. What we've noticed is having yesterday's backup isn't always the best if the user wants last quarter's backup.

I'd like to just be able to point to our archive drive and say "span across as many DVD's as it takes."
