Does anyone know how to remotely access a Cisco 2900 that's sitting on a NAT'd LAN? The switch has a RFC1918 address for local management. Is there anyway to telnet to this sw from outside the LAN WITHOUT assigning a Public address to the switch? Could I use a specific port connection? Which port would I use?

Thx.

btw: Left out something important. Connection to the internet / NAT service is via a Linksys Router so I'm unsure if a static route map would work<?>

FYI: This is not a "production" network...just a home lab ;-)

Ok...so maybe I've answered my own question...

I should be able to configure the NAT router to port-map all port 22 or 23 traffic to the RFC1918 address on the local network.

Then I could just Telnet or ssh to the public address on the router and the traffic would be forwarded to the switch.

I don't have access to this at this time. Can anyone deny or confirm? Thx.
