I was told by an Avaya rep last month that it is not currently possible to change the displayed label on the 46xx IP phones. I would love to find out that I'm wrong.

FYI - couldn't find any info on label-changing on kristiandg's posted link, so I contacted Denver. Here is the text of their reply:
Susan,
I received your web ticket #108689519. At this time, there is no way to change the button labeling for the abbreviated dial buttons on the 4620 set. This is a common request, so this will likely be changed in a future firmware release. However, there is no way to accomplish this at this time.
The alternative at this point is to use speed dial buttons on the phone. The labels may be changed for these buttons, as described in the 4620 User's Guide. This requires the programming of the numbers and labels to be done at the phone set.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you,

Withe the upgrade to Communication manager 1.3, you can write 5 characters insted fo AD5 etc. . You must also change station's Display language : User-Default, and then change display-message button - there you can change AD.
