we have some shared vulume groups in fastT and now we want to import those stuff into another node.
the problem is the major numbers of the shared vgs were occupied by other devices and some vgs in the destination node.
so, we want to chagne the target vg's major number without deleting and recreating this volume group.

any idea?

If you configure those "shared" vg's on a new node they should (I think) come up with their own new unique ID's. You will need to configure the switch paths to allow another host access but it will not be able to gain the IOCB if another host holds it.
The volume ID for remote devices should be created "on the fly" so /dev will show a new local device ID when it imports a remote vg.
When you say you want to import, do you mean you want to attach another host to that vg, or you just want read access to it, or do you just want to copy it off to somewhere else (same as read only really)?
