Does Actuate eSpreadsheet on AIX server using JDBC Connectivity Work?

I am attempting to run my first Actuate eSpreadsheet on the AIX box using jdbc connection to our AS400 databases and cannot get it to run consistently. Invariably the report fails when trying to connect to the database with the following error message: "The driver program the Open Server invoked indicates an error occurred."

Has anyone in this group experienced this type of problem and resolved it?
