I have a Linksys Router that acts as a DHCP server but Linksys states that you cannot have two DHCP servers running on the network at the same time. So I have to desable the PDC with Active Directory DHCP service.

The question is: Can a PDC obtain Static/Dynamic IP address from another/secondary DHCP server. That is, can I configure my PDC to obtain IP Addesses Dynamically and at the same time have Active Directory functioning correctly (Assigning usernames, Passwords, etc. and grabbing IPs from the secondary DHCP server and assiging them to the Computers/Users that it creates?)

Let me know if this can be done and how to do it.

Thanks.

I think I would go about this the other way around. Disable the DHCP service from the Linksys router and use the W2k DHCP. I would not recommend using a dynamic IP on a DC.
