Does a Cisco Catalyst 2900 XL need to be configured? Or is it just like a autosensing switch????

what config do you wish to apply?

The ports will need to be told if they are access or trunk ports, and the switch will need to be given an IP address if you wish to remotely manage it

what other config do you wish it to have?

Daniel,

Nevermind, this has been resolved. I am just using this switch like a hub, no need for remote admin. The cable I was using was bad. That's all.

Thanks anyway. I manage a FREE FACS (Flexible Automated Collection System) support forum. It is a one of a kind web site. Please stop by:

Most likely you will need to enable portfast on each port only if a pc client is attach

What is portfast, and why would I need to turn that one? I manage a FREE FACS (Flexible Automated Collection System) support forum. It is a one of a kind web site. Please stop by:

Sorry- it's not *immediately*.. there is still a short delay. Less then the nominal 50 seconds.. but not immediately.
