This is weird. When I go to copy or download something to my desktop - It's not there after I do it. But it's instead inside Docs & Settings - then under Desktop again. does this make sense? It's like athere are 2 desktops: the main one and another deep within Docs & settings. Anyone have an answer? thx.

This is the way XP's user structure is set up. Each user account (which reside under Documents & Settings) has its own desktop. There is also an 'all users' desktop. So, items in Docs & Settings/yourusername/Desktop will only show on your displayed desktop. Items in Docs & Settings/All Users/Desktop will display on everyone's desktop. So the desktop that each user sees is the comination of the all users and their individual desktop. You will also notice the same structure and behavior for Start Menu & a few other things.
