Is there any way to document the keys assigned to linked tables in a query in Access 97? Re-linking tables deletes these keys and they all have to be re-set again.

Thanks.

I don't understand what you mean by "keys assigned to linked tables"
Could you please eleborate?

When you create a query using 2 linked tables you can link fields in the two tables. However if you re-link these tables, the query loses the link between these fields. Therefore I would like to document the linked fields so that I can re-create these links if they get deleted.

I have only know this to happen if you open your query whilst the table are not linked...
It cannot link fields in tables that do not exist and therefore the links will be lost.
Is it not possible to ensure your tables are linked prior to opening your query(s)?

If you define your relationships upfront, you shouldn't have the problem. In fact, Access will autmatically link/join the tables when you create a query. To define your relationships, from the main database window, goto Tools|Relationships.
