Folks, I am in the process of building my very first SBS server. WOHOO!
What I am also wanting to do is make a nice documentation method, placed in a binder or several binders, of how the server "works", how the network "works", etc. Something that I can have in the server room so that, when I win the lottery ticket and am never seen again, the next IT guy can come in and continue on.

Being a typical, IT guy I don't want to reinent the wheel here either so I come to ya'll... the cyber-gods.

is there any one out there that has any sort of template that they can send me so that I can use as a guide?

I've already started using Visio to map out the network and each individual server with their respective roles, etc. But the actual form (either in Word, Excel or Adobe) I am lacking.

Thank you.

Take a look at the report that Sydi can give you out of the box. It is a free tool and can gather a ton of information.

I hope that helps.

Mark
