Does anyone know of or is currently using a good documentation tool for VFP 6 code? We are looking for a tool that could possible provide screen shots of the forms and document the controls on a form. We also would like to see the actual code VFP uses to build a form and its contained controls. Any suggestions?

Hi Joe,

We also would like to see the actual code VFP uses to build a form and its contained controls.

Use VFP's Class Browser. On the VFP menu, select <Tools> and >Class Browser>. Click the toolbar's <open> button. Select your form. Then click the toolbar's <View Class Code> button....and Voila!.....you have the code VFP uses to instantiate your form.

We are looking for a tool that could possible provide screen shots of the forms and document the controls on a form.

Whats wrong with pressing <PrintScrn>, pasting into MS Paint, and printing out the form or saving the image as a bitmap??

Jon,

All good suggestions for a manual approach to documentation. We we're hoping someone out there has developed a tool to do the work for us. Any ideas in that regard?

Joe

Hi Joe,

SnagIt seems to one of the best tool around for capturing images (eg, forms) on the screen.

I have not seen a better product on the market for capturing screenshots than FullShot 6.02. We utilize it for all of our documentation. PS: It comes with RoboHELP Office.
