Hiya

I'm trying to create a template that can be used as a letterhead but with the ability to type into the template and print it in one go.

I have set the header and footer to repeat on every page, which is fine. What complicates things is that the company logo, address etc goes into a table in the right hand column of the page.

I would like to be able to type continuously in the left hand column and have the logo etc in the right column repeat on every page.

The way I have laid it out is wrong because the text wraps into column two moving the logo etc down the page.

What is the best way for me to do this so that the stuff on the right stays put and then repeats in the same way as the header footer? Or am I simply asking too much? I'm using Word 2000.

Any ideas anyone please?

Karen

Hi Gerry

I would like to have, if possible, a page where the company logo and address can appear in the right hand margin, and then repeat on every page in the same way as the header and footer do.

I saw that the letter wizard can manage with a letterhead on the right hand side of the page, i.e. it sets the content margins. But can I place the logo etc in the right hand margin.

This may not be possible. Sorry - I'm really not much cop with Word.

Put the logo etc. in the header.

It sounds like you have them in the body.

Hi

I do have it in the body. Its a 3½" block of logo and text.
If I attach it to the header, then the header just grows.

I just wondered if I could apply it as though its a type of border element. But can't see the way to do it.

Not to worry - it can always be handled by pre-printing the letterheads and typing the letters in a reduced page width.

Sometimes people ( or I ) just like to make things more complicated than they need to be.

Thanks anyway

Karen

Insert a text box into the header.

Insert your graphic into the text box, along with whatever text you want.

You may need to play with the layout and wrapping options.

Thanks guys.

I'll give it another go tomorrow.

I really appreciate the pointers.
