Hey, I created a document in 11*18 cm with indesign. But when I pressed view<actual size, the displayed size was much smaller. I even measured it on screen with a real ruler. When I exported the document to pdf and again pressed view<actual size (in a pdf reader), it was BIGGER then I originaly wanted. What's up with these odd size changes and how do I get the size I really want???

View>Actual Size only puts the size of the document to 100% in relation to the size of your screen, it is not for accurately measuring with a ruler on the screen.

There are measurement tools in InDesign

and i can guarantee the size that you have input is the size of your document.

In no way should you be using a ruler or relying on Actual Size to give you an indication of size.

Print it out on paper large enough at 100% and you will see the real size.
