This may be a bit obscure, but what the heck. I'd like recommendations on document scanning software and hardware for linux. In the interest of making documents searchable I probably need some OCR solutions and some server storage.

I want to scan some articles on linux, golf, travel, and management. I'd need some basic classification of the docs and some keyword searching to find them.

Help appreciated.

Well if they are all translated into text documents you store them yourself in proper location when scanning, for easy lookup later you have the commandline tools like grep, egrep et al.

I know that most distros ship with their version of the twain drivers -- that is linux drivers that talk to twain devices. I've never used them, but I see that they are there.
