document properties

Hi all

I hope it's not to easy, but I like to get the document properties (author, title and so on) for a file anywhere in the windows filesystem. Naturally I know the exact path, but I just don't find a function to retrieve those attributes with pure VC++ (no COM please).

Any help is greatly appreciated
