Hello!

We are looking at installing Notes/Domino for a number of functions, a major one being report and document management. For example, we have two shifts of production work, and the shift managers constantly update spreadsheets which are then emailed to various managers.

I believe there must be a way in Notes to better capture this information, and to avoid the bandwidth consumption of distribution to all of these parties.

Does someone have a database I could review as a sample, or some guidelines on what to think about here?

Thanks!

Hello,

You could create a custom DB, or simply use the Doc Library Template to retain your use with Excel. If the Managers are in remote locations, you could create Replicas to conserve bandwidth. Domino R6 did a nice job with compression and it is working well for us.

Rgds,

John

Thanks, I will look further at the templates.
