document is disapearing

I have adobe acrobat 7.0 installed and when i open documents on our intranet they appear for about 3 - 5 seconds and the page goes blank. I have tried to reinstall the product and the results are the same.

I have installed Reader 8.0 and it works fine but i need Acrobat 7.0 installed for obvious reasons.

Does anyone have any clue as to why this is happening and how i can fix it.
