i am using Access 97 in a Novell environment.

in my form, i have a command button that opens an email using the docmd.sendobject code.

does anyone know how to make that email flagged for follow up and marked 'priority'?

i have the last argument in the sendobject code set to 'true' so the user can modify the email manually before sending it. but, i wanted to do it programmatically. (if a kind Tek-Tips helper would assist me!)
Not sure I understand...
So you want the e-mail to go out automatically?
You have to use False in the last parameter.
Do you want to add what the user added and have it go out automatically?
I'm confused.
DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

Won't you need to have automation of the Outlook objects?

hi,

i want Access to set the emails to be sent flagged for follow up and marked 'priority'.

sure, the user could click on the red flag button and the red exclamation mark on Outlook before clicking 'send', but i would like Access to do that for them. so the user would click the command button on Access, then Outlook would open with the TO: and SUBJECT: lines filled in and the red flag and the red exclamation mark would already be pressed.

then, all the user would have to do, after maybe typing some items in the body of the email, is to click 'send'.

in summary, my question is how to program Access so it opens Outlook with the red exclamation mark and the red flag already pressed.

thanks

I have also the same Problem and if you got a solution meanwhile I would also be interested. Thanks.

I see this thread is old, but I did anyone ever consider using a rule in Outlook to flag the message, as opposed to having it done in Access?

This should work without difficulties, as I'm assuming that the subject would always be the same.

Just a thought, if anyone was still looking at this thread.

I have read this command line somwhere...

Give it a try...
