I have a database with back end on network server and front ends - I have maintained access 97 even though we are just now starting to get 2000 -

One of my users who has access 2000 is having a problem with a save button that was created with the wizard - it was created in access 97 and I understand that docmd.domenuitem was replaced with docmd.runcommand.

I changed the event to:

docmd.runcommand acCmdSaveRecord

It worked on my computer but when I updated hers I got an error that the command or action save record is not available.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciate!!!!

Thanks!!!

Fred

It does occur from time to time, I don't know why (version, references, os...), but the "easy" way out is (at least where I've encountered this):

[tt]if me.dirty then
docmd.runcommand acCmdSaveRecord
end if[/tt]

- i e - don't try to save when there are no unsaved changes

Thanks Roy - I will give that a whirl when I get back in the office tomorrow

Thanks again!
