I'm performing a repetitive number of INSERT INTO's which case the status bar to flicker, display 'Updating...'/Ready

I've tried DoCmd.Echo False, "Updating", but it doesnot work.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Uncle Jack, but Application.Echo does exactly the same thing as DoCmd.Echo -
Status bar alternately displays Form View, Query with progress bar. rapidly flickering back and forth with each query processed.

I tried putting the echo command in a variety of places, in case it was a scoping issue, but even in the processing loop, every time I perform an DoCmd.RunSQL "INSERT INTO ..." it flickers the status bar.

I opem the retrieve files as DAO recordsets, but I insert directly into the tables. This may be the issue, but I'm not comfortable with the .EDIT and .UPDATE processes, I keep getting into trouble with scoping.

I'll just tell the users that's how they know it's working (it's a FEATURE, not a bug!)

Thanks. David 'Dasher' Kempton
