Doc Check In/Out not working

I am trying to use the FrontPage document check-in/check-
out option on a new server. After check-out, during the same session, when I right click on the file to check-in there is no check-in option available. The file appears with a lock symbol and says that [userid] has the file checked out and though I am logged in as [userid], I am unable to open the file again or check it in. The hosting company has given up on a resolution.

I also use this feature successfully with the same files
on another server, so I can't believe that it is my FP
2002 client configuration.

The difference is that the successful server is at FP
5.0.2 3501 and the unsuccessful server is at FP 5.0.2
2623. Is this a known issue that may be resolved with an
update to the server?

I was wondering if you ever found a solution to your problem. My web host also has the old version of FPSE, and it doesn't work. It seems that the "newer" version of FPSE is a version of Microsoft SharePoint, which is basically a for-money version of FPSE. It's supposed to have a few extra features. I'd like to know if you found a solution to the problem; it's been bugging me forever. I've switched web hosts twice because of it.
