hello...how do you adjust the time on the aloha terminal as the main cpu shows the correct time but the individual terminals are an hour behind but one they are all restarted it corrects the time but reverts back to an hour behind at the end of the evening , some thing to do with the day light saying time
regards

I'm not familiar with Aloha but it sounds more like a windows setting "automatically adjust for daylight savings time". Or probably the internet time is turned on and your set to the wrong time zone, this would explain how it automatically reverts back. When I set up my systems I turn all of these off. I find it strange that Aloha doesn't retrieve the time from the server, so regardless of individual times it should all be in sync.

You will need to run tzdstadj.exe to fix the problem.

I use VNC to connect to terminals
had this problem for a bit this is what worked for me when nothing else did

1. In order I VNC in to each terminal from last to first and turned off aloha ( on terminal )
2. I check and fixed each terminal as needed to the right Time and time Zone ( not checking the auto update daylight savings)
3. I login to aloha and checked the aloha time settings made sure it was not set for daylight savings but sync with server
4. on the Computer itself made the appropriate changes as needed to the right time and time zone ( not checking the auto update daylight savings)
5. reboot master terminal and checked to make sure the time was correct
6. reboot each terminal in order from second to last checking each time that the time is correct

I'm sorry, but..
Wow, thats a lot of work to sync time. As good as Aloha is, I believe they still run on old practices and old functions they just won't let go of. It should automatically sync with the server without any work from the end user. So what I'm hearing is every station is theoretically on its own time, therefore sending print jobs to say the kitchen on whatever time they are each on - station1 its 10am, station2 its 11am? After all its pretty simple to programatically pull the time from the DB server system time, and who cares what the time is on the others, grab the time from server for all functions and all is in sync. To me, that is the obvious way to program a system.

IN THE FALL (gain ONE HOUR) I adjust the SERVER TIME and CHECK OFF ADJUST for DAYLIGHT savings TIME. Then RESTART SERVER and Refresh DATA (for the workstations.

IN SPRING (loose ONE HOUR) I adjust the SERVER TIME and UNCHECK Adjust for Daylight savings time. Then RESTART SERVER and Refrest DATA ....

Seems to work for me .....
