Hi!

I am very interested to create automatically a ERD or some usefull output using the SYSIBM tables as input.

I work as a contracter on several places. Every time again there is this difficulty in getting to know how the system is build, while the SYSIBM tables contains lots of information.

Does anyone have some usefull queries perhaps? Can we share some info here? Perhaps even a smart COBOL program or PL/1?

Thanks in advance!

You might want to look into buying ERwin. If you want to read about it, go to <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> keep our MVS DB2 models organized with ERwin. We also use this tool for Oracle, Sql Server and some Access database models. We were not too thrilled at first but if you have to pass your work on to someone else, this is a nice way to have things organized.

We also use ModelMart (add more money to your ERwin purchase) to manage the Erwin Models on some bigger projects. This allows you to check-out models without stepping on each other.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I can't install my own software on the customers mainframe/pc-network environment. I guess it will cost some money also and as a contractworker I am trying to earn money, not to spend more than I can earn in a few days for this.

What I need is a program that finds its way in the SYSIBM.* tables in DB2. I can develop this myself but I suppose somebody did this before and perhaps likes to share the info.
