Do you recommend Toshiba Satellite A205-S4639?

Hi there,

I need some advice in buying a laptop, I found Toshiba Satellite A205-S4639 to be a relatively good choice, the full info can be found here:

One thing I don't understand is how fast the CPU is, the specifications page says the processor is:

Processor Intel Core 2 Duo 1.73 GHz
Data bus speed 533 MHz
Chipset type Mobile Intel 945PM Express


I am currently using a computer that has an Intel Pentium (R) D CPU 3.40GHz cpu, I was wondering if this laptop is faster than this computer or not, and if it is how faster is it?

I want to use this laptop generally for programming, but entertainment is also important I mean I wanna watch dvds and play games, the most important thing for me is the speed, I like fast computers...

Do you guys think it's a good choice for me?

You are looking in the "desktop" section. The mobile section is not as complete:

but I did not spend much time looking. That is a good laptop, but there is a newer chipset, the GM965, that is worth a look:

Intel has three core 2 duo chips listed on that list and the speed is "UP TO" 2.4Ghz which would include yours.

The answer is "42"
