When passing data to Great Plains from a webstore, do you have to create an invoice in order to create a sales transaction entry?

You need to create a sales batch. That will create the sales document.
Then if you need to create an invoice out of the sales document you can do so.
at least that was my understanding, but I am not GP Account Receiveable guru... I just make sure the GP stays up and running.
Anyone with AR experience here?

there are two modules involved here
SOP which includes estimates/salesorders/invoicing/returns
and
INVOICING which just includes invoicing
the two are mutually exclusive and cannot be used together
