Do we need to Install DB2 UDB software under Root user?

Is it necessary to run the Install under the root user. Can we not run the installation under some other privileged user.
I have a situation that I cannot run the installation under the root user.

You need root to install db2 udb software.You can not install it with any other user.

Even if you want to create instance only root can able to do that.
