Do VMI's work on BCM? 1

Customer has Octel mail on Norstar currently.
Wants to forklift Norstar for BCM.
Octel is connected to Norstar via VMI's
Will the VMI's work on the BCM?
BCM 3.5

it should ...havent tried though ...

it is hte same MSC card of the norstar ...and dtmf tones are exchanged ... too bad i dont have a vmi otherwise wud be nice to test ...

maybe someelse will

I hate answering my own posts but:
Plugged a VMI into a BCM 3.6
Plugged 2500 set into VMI
Tried calling an IP phone

Results:
No signalling
No speech path

VMI's are clearly not supported on BCM 3.5

If the customer is looking for a cheaper option for voice mail then CallPilot that is installed on the hard drive, check out 1CTI.

They have a voice mail integration for the BCM. We are running it on 3.6, and so far it has more features and works very nicely.

AvayaGuy This customer insists on keeping their Octel vmail.

there is no BCM forum ...as far as i'm aware ...should one be started? (n* and bcm seem to get along allright

and octel is a pretty decent voicemail ...

can you call into the phone on VMI?

Methodology to test plugged in VMI into tdm port.
plugged 2500 set into analog port on VMI.
Tried called set.
No signalling.
No speech path.
