In outlook I created an outlook data file and saved it to the hard drive. I created folders and started moving e-mails over. Does anybody know if it will keep everything, attachments, dates, EVERYTHING, or will I lose stuff when I move it off of the server?

1. There is an Email issues forum where you may get more help
2. Why can't you try it and see - with just a few emails?
3. In Outlook 2003 and 2000 and 1997 PST files do in my experience keep 'everything' associated with emails and, less well tested, calander items. However you can't save the address book in this way.
4. I am not exactly sure if "outlook data file" is the same as a PST file.
5. PST files can become corrupted and as a result you can lose lots of emails. Keep regular backups. Microsoft have a backup tool for outlook. For outlook express a simple batch file is quite effective.
