Do pre-installed Windows 8 machines have licence key stickers?

Hi,

I am doing an IT audit, and have found the two Samsung Windows 8 laptops bought recently don't have a licence key sticker on them, there is a Windows 8 logo sticker and that is it.

Have they done away with Windows licence stickers that must be attached to the machine with the licence key?

Some vendors were starting to place the COA under the battery compartment or incorporate it as part of the Bios according to this post.

No COA included with pre-built PC - does it matter?

I have also seen such stickers inside the cover over the RAM slots.

yeah, I had already tried the usual places, under battery, HD cover, RAM cover, no joy?

Looks like I need to check the BIOS for this new way of authorising the software.

The Microsoft Surface Pro also doesn't have a visible COA sticker on it.
