Do not want VM to pickup once caller picks "0" from the VM system

I have a Merlin Legend Release 3. We are using AA. When a caller reaches the VM system and then presses "0" - if that person is not at her desk, the caller gets her VM. We want it to ring without ever going to VM. I do want VM to pick up if the caller chose "0" when the AA picks up and the operator is not at her desk. Is that possible?

Thanks in advance,

0 off the autoattendant apparantly goes to your operator. Take her out of voice mail coverage, and get rid or her mailbox if you don't want it used.

I am incredibly confused by this post.. but it seems to me, presuming I'm reading correctly - that you could do this one way..

Build a calling group with only her extension in it. (Let's call it 773 for conversation).. Set the 0/timeout action to x-fer to the 773. Since 773 isn't a group 30 sender, it will never cover.. BUT - if you call her from the inside, or transfer to ext 100, you'll get her personal voicemail.

I know you could use coverage buttons, and adjunct ports.. but those are "messy", and use buttons on the phone. This way, the calls just ring in on an SA button.

Can anyone more experienced validate this logic for me? :)

The default "Call Answer Service Operator" is Ext. 768, which is an invalid extension on most Legend systems. And the default "Dial 0/Timeout" action is "Transfer to Call Answer Service Operator". Because 768 is invalid, the call goes to Logical ID 01, the Operator console; but because the call wasn't really to the extension number of Logical ID 01, it doesn't cover to voice mail.

Thanks for the help. I am flying blind with this phone system - so I decided to just let it ring - no voicemail coverage at all for "0".

I think I will create a separate VM box for the operator. (That is how it was set-up originally.)

Thanks again.
