All,

I am hoping someone can help me out. I was having problems with DLL errors for IE6 and help and tried everything that I know of to correct the error to no avail. I went for the last resort and reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition (I know this is Professional Forum but I couldn't find a forum for HOme). Everything seemed to go well with my install but it never came up after it was done installing so I made a hard reset (power) and started my computer I went up to option if I wanted to start in safe mode or regular mode, I tried both but none of them worked as it said that it could not find a harddrive!!! I tried to reboot from my XP disc but that did not seem to work. What do I do now? How do I get to boot up and have my harddrive recognized again? Also I am not extremely worried about my programs as I have most everything backed up but I do not have what is most important to me on disc which is all my digital pictures. Will my programs and files be likely to still be available for me.
I appreciate all the help I can get!

Thanks!!

Thanks Bcastner but I think you might have misunderstood my question. I can read my Windows disk it is just that when I boot it does not find my hard drive and loop back to start in safe mode no matter if I start in safe mode or regular I get back to that same screen again as it doesn't find my hard drive at all.
Thanks!

Call the tech support line for the hard drive manufacturer. I have had terrific luck in finding a tech guy to resolve odd and wierd BIOS and other issues with hard disk drives.

I hope it works for you as well. But every once in a while you find yourself with a hair ripping experience, and the tech support folks deal with this all day long.

Do what "Bcastner" says first, before you go down this path.

Try running ChkDsk /r from Recovery Console.

Have a look at the FixMbr command in Recovery Console.
