Do I need the license for R10 before upgrading?

I'm going through the upgrade to R10 and got this pop up. Do I need to purchase the license before continuing the upgrade?

I had to do the upgrade then put license in - didn't accept PLDS license without doing upgrade first, pretty odd.

So it will suspend the phone system until I put the license in?

This message exists a long time. Not special to R10. Only difference is that you will need PLDS licenses for R10 instead of ADI licenses up to 9.x

Be aware that from 5.x to 10.0 you need some steps in between. Check the release notes and IP500V2 installation guides.

Check your R10 license if it has essential edition included or not!

Fastest way would be to recreate the SD card in R10. Then replace the IP500v2.bin with that one of the intermediate firmware you need. Reboot IPO to upgrade, replace BIN file with the next intermediate step and reboot again. Repeat that for every step you need until you at last replace it with the R10 bin file.

R9.1 and R10 will accept the license file.

Thanks for the info derfloh, going from R9 to R10. So I can run the upgrade without the license on hand? I'm still waiting on a quote for the licensing.

If you don't have the licenses the system will not work after the upgrade.
