Do I need more memory?

Over the past few days I'v just been running staroffice and netscape 6.2.2 on a ultra 10 with 512Mb ram solaris 8.
However things are sluggish already, I have not yet even started doing any java stuff.
My swap space usuage is around 365MB/1024MB.
Why is so much memory eaten up so quickly.
Would it be worth me upgrading to the full 1gb of ram.

As this is a general workstation, if dissabled all non-essently services.
I'v even stopped DHCP and started using static ip addressing.

My hdd is a 18gb 10k rpm scsi drive.

What else can I do?

Hi,

What CPU are you using ?

Maybe look at what is eating up mem ?

prstat -a gives you an idea

run sar for a day or two and watch where you need to tweak your box

run top or ps (/usr/ucb/ps -waxu) to show which processes are using memory.
