Do I have to use the data filter on Arcserveit for Netware ver 6.6

I have a schedule rotation with certain directories that have subdirectories selectively excluded.

How can I ensure any new sub-directories are assumed to be included in the rotation?

Is my only option to set "File Patterns" on directories and files from Filter types?
