The subreport needs to do 2 things: 1. to return a shared variable to main report for deciding if the group need to be suppressed; 2. if the group will not be suppressed, to show some records in the group footer.

I found I have to run the subreport twice - one in group header to decide if suppress the group and one in group footer to show the records. Otherwise, the main report can't suppress correctly.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

There is no way to have the subreport in the GF control the printing of the sections in front of it. If the subreport has to print at the end of the group and determine if the group itself should print, I think you will need to print it twice.
