Do flash 5 .fla files work with Flash 4 program?

Hi, quick question which i hope is easy to answer.

Do flash 5 .fla files work with Flash 4 program?

My friend wants to send me some .fla file he made in flash 5 and I only have flash 4 and we don't know if they are compatible? Is there a way to convert the files so I can read them?

Nope!
The other away around works... But not from Flash 5 to Flash 4!
Only way is to do it by hand... And then again, some added features in Flash 5, cannot be translated in Flash 4!
Sorry! You should upgrade! Or even wait for a while... Flash 6 is soon to be out!
