Hi All,

I have been searching the KB and matrix to see if the 4400 series phone will work on R9. It is my assumption that they will work on a digital 16 or digital 30 module, but not on a base card... Is that correct or can anyone confirm?

I have a IP406v2 that we plan on upgrading to 9.0, but would like to re-use the 4400 series phones and the digital 16/30 modules.

Thanks!

I should mention that we are replacing the 406v2 with a new 500v2 as part of the upgrade.

The Non-Global versions were available from the late 1980s to the early 1990s and only sold in North America. The Global version was available in all regions including NA as of the Early-Mid 1990s until the End of Sale of the M7000 Series sets.

The Global and Non-Global sets can best be identified through their contrast level:
• Global version – 9 Contrast Levels
• Non-Global version – 4 Contrast Levels

Avaya partners should notify the end-customers that the M7000 has reached the End of Life status and hence technical support for them is limited.

Note: All versions of the T7000 Series are supported and there are no minimum firmware or regional requirements for the BST T7000 Series sets.

Thanks hairless monkey. I did see that on the knowledgebase, but it did not give a clear confirmation of if it was supported and if it required a special connection (dig16/30 mod). All is mentions is "The following telephones are no longer available for new sales."

I have customers using 5400 series (which are on the list) so I wasn't sure how the 4400 series was treated other than the fact that they are no longer sold new.

At least they aren't an Ex Nortel site, people coming from Nortel systems seem to think changing handsets is a ridiculous concept and what they have should last at least 20 years regardless what make system they are buying......that's going off what's been posted here since Avaya bought Nortel :)

Give them their due, just plugging in a M or T Series phone and it works was a wonderful reminder of "oh yes, that's how all phones used to work". No 20 minutes of Avaya firmware upgrade. :(

Of course with the new DT modules its the module that needs to do a firmware switch. And even my telly does firmware upgrade now. God I'm getting old... just like Nortel and 4400 sets.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
