Just from perusing the IT job ads out there it appears that there are a multitude of jobs out there specifically related to reporting (this obviously includes data warehousing, etc). I am wondering, due to the increased specialization in IT, if there is a specific department within your company related solely to reporting? I am thinking of broaching my boss about the possibility of creating such a department, possibly a subgroup of IT so there would be an actual structural hierarchy in place that would define this specific role in the company. It is my guess, if this is not aready out there in the workplace that it will be. I would like your opinions or experience.
