I know this may sound stupid, but I am a complete PIX newbie. We just upgraded from a 3com OfficeConnect 25 Firewall.

Where do I put our ISP's DNS info on the external interface? I only see a spot for IP, Subnet, Gateway (T1 router). I see internal DNS on the internal network, but can't seem to find the external DNS?

As I recall, you don't. The Pix doesn't do DNS resolution itself. Only your workstations will have DNS addresses.

If you mean that you're the Pix as a DHCP server and need to pass DNS addresses to the workstations, then you'd enter

dhcpd dns address1 (optional address2)

Oh ok thanks!

Because on the 3Com you had to enter your ISP's DNS otherwise none of the webpages would resolve externally. We use our own internal DNS server 10.1.1.15 for the clients.
