In a small LAN (6 boxes) i changed IP addresses, 'cause we got a new ADSL line with static IP.
Now the router is xxx.xxx.xxx.1, the DC is xxx.xxx.xxx.4 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.248.
When I restarted the server, all things gone right except for one client.
It cannot "find the domain". It sees (ping) the DC, find the gateway to the internet, but it can't connect to shared folders on the server. I have always have to provide Admin passwd to connect to them. But at every reboot the problem is there. (net view gives error 5 access denied).
Could be a DNS issue? Some help?
Thank you

Is that client pointing to the correct DNS IP address?

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

There are no more PDC's! There are DC's with FSMO roles!

Into the TCP/IP properties "Advanced"-> "DNS" it points to server IP. Is it right?

Try reassiging another IP address to that pc. Also you could try to flush dns.

What IP are you allocating this PC (just the last octet will do) as the subnet mask only allows for 6 IP addresses?

subnet mask is 255.255.255.248, so I have only 6 IP to assign.
I can access shared folders from server to client, but i can't login into the client as Domain\Administrator (fool)
So I login as normal user and gain access to the shared folders on the server as Domain\Administrator....:O ???
