Having 2 odd problems with DNS on a 2000 domain. First issue is that all the secondary zones will stop loading randomly; when this happens the event log will start to log errors stating that the DC for X zone can't be contacted. All secondary zones will have this issue one after another.

Second issue is that after restarting the server or restarting the DNS service one of the secondary zones will be missing, adding it in fixes the issue until a restart or service restart happens again.

To solve #1 a restart of the DNS service cures the problem but it's happening at least once a day. This in turns causes #2.

Network connectivity has been checked and ruled out and this domain has been up and running for years with the same secondary zones but yet only recently started having the issue.

Any ideas on how to permanently fix either one or both of these issues? Thanks in advance for the help.

I think a straight forward reinstall of DNS followed by applying the latest service pack has to be a starting point. There is the obvious reboot after doing this as well.
