Does Novell offer a DNS server for 4.11 or must I use someone else's like Microsoft or Unix? I ask this because I need to bring our DNS in-house and I have not been able to find anything about DNS for Netware.

Thanks for the help.

Jeff

Novell has DNS/DHCP services available, however under Netware 4.11 it was not as popular. But NW 5.x has a DNS/DHCP service that is directory enabled. May be worth either upgrading your current 4.11 server to 5.1 or setting up a new PC Based 5.1 server with this service. nice addition is that as IP addresses are assigned to users, there is an area in their NDS account that is populated with that IP address.. Makes it easier for troubleshooting purposes etc..

I work with NT servers, NDS for NT as well.

Def agree with previous posting. Netware 5.x DNS is so easy to configure and use.

Nw4.11 does have dns server, you need to use unicon to configure it, no nice GUI sorry.

There are numerous TID's on support.novell.com on how to do it.

Move to nw5.x, the best choice for you. Lee Smith
