I want my 95/Win2000 workstation to register dns name dynamically to the DNS server running Sun5.7 Bind8.3.3. Is this possible? Do i need to modified any file on the DNS server?

look at samba ... there is something in there that allows the DNS to be updated with the Net Name of the PC ... if you need a hand i'll look further into it.

found it (i think) there is a 'wins hook' option in the samba configuration ... never used it, but it looks like the right thing.
