I have just finished configuring Active Directory in a domain and have the dns working fine internally.

The problem is that somehow i have managed to configure the DNS Servers as root Servers so i cant forward or have the root hints.

How do i create a Windows 2000 DNS forwarder Sever as opposed to a root server?
I have removed DNS off one of the servers but still get the same problem.

Thanks

go to the forward lookup zone in the DNS setup and remove the entry for . (dot)
you should then be able to setup a forwarder, however, you should not need to. DNS should operate recursively and resolve foreigh addresses correctly using "roothints"
