I have a newly loaded and patched Solaris 5.8 box. I have just setup dns by entering my domain and nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf and by changing my /etc/nsswitch.conf. I can succesfully do a nslookup on anything. I cannot ping by hostname. I can ping by IP. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks!

you may want to check your /etc/hosts, or probably your dns if it has the entry for your machine :)
